Hurricane Hugo – “I Survived” Charlotte, NC (1989)

$33.00
September 22, 1989 , Hurricane Hugo tore through Charlotte and left a story on every block. Power lines down, trees everywhere, and one collective memory that still rattles windows whenever it rains sideways.

This one-color hand-drawn design features a skeleton straddling a fallen tree under the swirling eye of the storm, centered right over Charlotte. Designed in a nostalgic radar-map layout, it’s a tribute to every Carolinian who’s ever bragged about “surviving Hugo” and laughed doing it. Anyone else find it weird the neighbors dad was grilling in briefs every night? Nah, me neither.
